Daniele de Rossi is about to sign a new one-year contract with Roma, reports Sky Sports.
The 33-year-old player has spent his entire career with the team of the Wolves but his current agreement with the club expires at the end of next month. This led to a speculation that Inter Milan is ready to take the soccer player as a free agent.
The new sporting director of the Romans Monchi, however, has given the green light for an extending the contract by one year. During this period, de Rossi will receive 4 million euros in salary, which is 1 million euros less than the proposed amount by Inter Milan.
If the midfielder decides to stay at his current team, then most likely he will be the captain of the team in the next season, after he is currently the second choice after Francesco Totti, for whom that is going to be his last campaign for Roma.
