The teams of Bayer (Leverkusen) and Borussia (Dortmund) finished 1-1 in the match of the 14th round of the First Bundesliga. Dortmund`s `yellow-blacks` fell to sixth in the 22-point ranking, while Leverkusen`s `aspirins` were eighth with 21 points. Borussia`s second half played with a guy over Wendel`s red card from Bayer 04 at the end of the first part, but that did not help the `yellow-blacks` to end their series without winning the German championship. Also, at the 8th minute, Maximilian Philipp was on a stretcher after having suffered a severe knee injury and was replaced by Andre Schurrle (more about Philip`s trauma you can read HERE! ). At the end of the first half injury, Borussia`s other player Gonzalo Castro was also injured and he was unable to continue the game and was replaced by Shinji Kagawa. Kevin Volland with his ninth goal of the season gave Leverkusen an advantage in the 30th minute and Andriy Yarmollenko equalized in the 73rd.
In the 12t h minute, Borussia`s guard Roman Burki, who had a lot of work today, reacted brilliantly after a foul, and seconds later he made a new rescue, this time after Julian Brant`s blowout from the air.
In the 21st minute, Bayer was very close to a goal in the goal of Roman Burki. Kevin Volland broke out of Borussia`s defense, left the center and advanced to half of Dortmund, overtaken Burki and on an empty door he could not make a mistake - 1:0. The match was excellent for the hosts until the 41st minute when Wendel got a red card and Bayer (Leverkusen) stayed with a man less on the pitch. The Brazilian defender has committed a brutal offense against Gonzalo Castro and deservedly removed from the game. The adolescent and former Leverkusen Castro player was replaced by Shinji Kagawa. At the start of the second half, Andriy Yarmollenko fell into the penalty area of the hosts after a slight touch with a Bayer player, but the yellow-blacks did not get a penalty in this situation.
