Ovtcharov and Samsonov with equal roles as favourites

The top seeded Dimitrij Ovtcharov from Germany and the number 3 seeded Vladimir Samsonov from Belarus are the semi-final winners at the Table Tennis men`s singles on Friday morning, beating the Britanian Paul Drinkhall and the Ukrainian Lei Kou respectively.

After the second seeded Timo Boll has been out due to an illness earlier this week, the European top ranked players will meet each other on Friday evening`s final at Baku Sports Hall.

"Two games from livescore to one and 4-1 in the fourth was my chance to go on and win," said Drinkhall. "But he`s a great player. I can reach his level, I just don`t know how yet."

The Belarusian Samsonov was out by his Ukrainian opponent in the opening game, but with all of his experience he managed to dispatch his opponent in convincing fashion, winning with 4-1.
Kou and Drinkhall will battle for the bronze at Baku Sports Hall this evening.
